Strawberry Bruschetta

There's a little eatery not far from here, in Ft. Branch, that has Italian night every Thursday. Fettucinne Alfredo, pasta in homemade marinara sauce and lasagna are a few of the favorites there.
Candy from Rz Cafe' was nice enough to share one of her recipes with me. How could I say no? This is so easy and with fresh strawberries, so good. Simplicity at its best.

Strawberry Bruschetta
Fresh Baguette – cut into thin slices
Sliced fresh strawberries
Sugar
Butter

Place baguette on baking sheet and brush with butter and sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 5 minutes.

Place fresh cut strawberries on bread and sprinkle with more sugar. Bake again for another 5-8 minutes or until bread is toasted.

Can be served with a dollop of sweetened mascarpone cheese or fresh whipped cream.

This fresh summer meal would go great with a nice Moscato or Chardonnay.
