Cranberry Orange Salad

     The holidays are coming. It's now time to start experimenting before the big day arrives. Recently we had the crew over for "fall birthdays," so I tried out a new version of cranberry sauce. A little bit of orange for freshness and the crisp, crunch of apples make a nice balance for the tart cranberries.


Cranberry Orange Salad
1 can whole cranberry sauce
1 can mandarin oranges, drained
1 apple, cored, peeled and diced
1/4 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped (optional)

Mix all ingredients in medium bowl. Cover and refrigerate at least 30 minutes.
