Cheesecake Bites

Photo courtesy of the Cooking Corner.
Recently we had a potluck at work where my coworkers brought in various football foods. There were a variety of dogs, dips and other snacks. The only dessert was this little tidbit that I threw together as a back up.
This bite-sized snack couldn't be easier. You flavor the cream cheese and spread it on a layer of crescent rolls. The dough is light and the filling not overly sweet. It's just a good combination. The bites also did very well at room temperature, so that you don't have to worry about serving them warm.

Cheesecake Bites
2 cans crescent rolls
2 8 oz. packages cream cheese, softened
1-1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter, melted
Cheesecake bite ingredients.
sprinkles of cinnamon and sugar
1/8 cup honey, if desired as garnish

Unroll and spread 1 can of crescent rolls on the bottom of a 9 x 13 baking dish (or 8 x 8 if you want to cut the recipe in half).

Mix cream cheese, 1 cup sugar and vanilla until well combined. Spread over crescent roll.

Unroll remaining crescent roll and lay over cream cheese. Melt butter and spread over crescent rolls. Sprinkle generously with cinnamon and sugar.

Bake for 20 minutes in 350 degree oven until slightly browned.
Drizzle with a little honey if desired. Let cool, slice and serve.

Makes 32 bites.

Half batch of bites just out of the oven.
