After going to a nearby Italian eatery, I had to attempt Italian Sausage and Peppers. If you like these ingredients separately, you'll love them blended together. It's an Italian favorite of mine.
1 pkg. 5-6 links Italian sausage
1 green bell pepper, sliced in strips
1/2 red onion, sliced
1 sweet onion, sliced
1 clove garlic, diced
1/2 tsp. oregano
sprinkle crushed red pepper
sprinkle cracked black pepper
2 T. olive oil
Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat.
Add sausage to skillet and cook until well browned, turning frequently for about 10 minutes.
Add onions, peppers and spices, cooking over low heat for another 10 minutes, until veggies are tender and meat cooked through (no longer pink).
Serve on plate with veggies surrounding meat and a side of pasta or on a hoagie or Italian roll.
