Sausage Roll

One of the local food places here in southern Indiana is famous for a pastry called a Saucheesie. It's great a hand-held meaty treat. After years of practicing, I'm coming close to duplicating this specialty.
A good friend, gave me the recipe to a dish that is so close. With the Saucheesie, a loaf of frozen bread is divided into fourths and then filled. This way, you just roll out the whole loaf and fill it. Both are great!

Sausage Roll
1 loaf frozen bread dough
2 cups Mozzarella cheese
1 lb. Pork Sausage ( mild, medium or hot depending on your taste)
Italian Seasoning
Parmesan Cheese
1 egg
*optional ingredients - jalapenos, bell peppers, onions, etc.

Put frozen dough in pan to thaw over night. Spray cooking spray on cling wrap and place over dough to keep dough from drying out.

Next day-

   Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
   Cook sausage. Roll out
thawed dough on counter, coated with cooking oil. Layer sausage, Mozzarella cheese, Italian seasoning and any other ingredients desired.
Roll up dough. Beat egg and brush over top of dough. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake 20 -30 minutes.
