Vanilla White Russian

Photo courtesy of the Cooking Corner.
It's kind of nice to put a new twist on an old favorite. We've had a bottle of vanilla flavored vodka sitting around for awhile, so I decided to find a use for it. Since I'm not much for vodka in any flavor, the drink that came to mind was the white Russian. The little touch of vanilla turned out to pair nicely with the hint of coffee flavor in the Kahlua. There is nothing quite like the richness of heavy cream in this drink, but milk is easy on the budget and diet.

Vanilla White Russian
1-1/2 oz. (shot+) Kahlua
1 oz. (shot) Vanilla Vodka
splash or half shot (1/2 oz.) heavy cream (use 2% milk for the skinny version)

Measure into large glass with ice and mix well. (Shake if you have a lid.)

Strain drink into a chilled glass and serve. (Keep the ice if you like.)
Makes 1 drink for sipping.
