Cranberry 7-up Salad

Every family has certain dishes at special holidays that just go together. My kids want sausage balls every holiday, but when I was growing up one of the standard dishes we looked forward to every Thanksgiving was Cranberry 7-Up Salad. My sister talked my mom out of the recipe and she's passed it on. It's one of our faves and really simple. It wouldn't need to be only a holiday dish. It's cool and refreshing in the summer, too.

Cranberry 7-Up Salad
1 lg. pkg Strawberry or Cherry Jell-O
1 lg. can crushed pineapple
1 can jelled cranberry sauce
1 can 7-up
Cool Whip
Chopped pecan pieces

Drain juice from pineapple into a medium size sauce pan. Heat juice to a boil. Add Jell-O and stir until dissolved.

Remove from stove, add cranberry sauce (cut up) and mix. Add pineapple. Mix slowly. Add can of 7-Up. Cool.

Pour into a 13x9 baking dish and place into refrigerator until it sets up. At least an hour or two. Spread Cool Whip on top.

This Recipe is also a Tradition of ours but we use dream whip on top instead of Cool Whip
