Easy BBQ Baked Beans

Mmm...baked beansImage by jeffreyw via Flickr
One of the easiest and most common side dishes at any cookout is baked beans. This is an easy, cheap way to "doctor up" some canned pork and beans to serve a small crowd, or large family. You can also make these as sweet or heated as you like. The old fashioned way of soaking beans and making them from scratch might be good, but this is much faster and just as tasty. This is a perfect beginner recipe for a good side dish.

BBQ Baked Beans
2-14 oz. cans cheap pork and beans, drained
1/3-1/2 cup BBQ sauce (your choice)
1/2 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. chili powder
sprinkle of seasoned salt
sprinkle of cracked black pepper
3 pieces of cooked bacon, crumbled (optional)
splash of Worcestershire sauce (optional)

Combine all ingredients in medium saucepan and simmer on low 30 minutes to 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Serves 6-8.

Note: If you like your BBQ sweeter, add 1/4 cup brown sugar or sweet (honey) BBQ sauce.
