A friend of mine shared a recipe that her son, a recent Purdue grad, created. (Yeah, can't you just imagine what young college-age males eat?) But this is really good, fairly easy, and makes a bunch - just what you need to feed teenagers with constant munchies.
Matt's Sweet Party Mix
3 cups Cocoa Puffs
3 cups Rice Chex
2 cups pretzels
1 cup Peanuts
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/4 t. cream of tartar
1/4 t. baking soda
1/2 t. vanilla
Preparation -
Boil brown sugar, margarine and corn syrup. Remove from heat and add cream of tartar, baking soda and vanilla. Spread cereal and nuts on sprayed cookie sheet. Pour glaze over cereals, nuts and pretzels.
Bake 15 minutes at 300. Stir and bake 15 minutes more. Let cool.
