What Could be Mac's Famous Barbecue's Chocolate Pie

If you read my weekly food column, you'll know that for Memorial Day we did our version of a "Chocolate Pie Throw Down." We taste tested two chocolate pie recipes. One was my mother-in-laws chocolate pie that I featured in a column on Monday, March 28th, if you want to compare recipes. The other was this recipe, given to me by a friend who got this as a wedding gift from her third grade school teacher in 1976. See the "Cooking Corner Columns" in the reading goodies section for more details.

(What I think might be) Mac's Chocolate Pie
1 small instant chocolate pudding
1 small instant vanilla pudding
1 quart vanilla ice cream
1- 9 oz. tub of Cool Whip
2 Wick's ready baked pie shells
2 cups milk

In large bowl, mix 2 cups cold milk and instant puddings. When mixture is smooth, add ice cream and blend until smooth.
Pour into pie shells and top with whipped topping. Refrigerate until well chilled. Makes 2 pies. Keeps 3 days.
