Banana Split Dessert

New desserts are always fun. My daughter brought this dessert home as her contribution for Easter Dinner. It was layers of creamy sweet and fun fruit.
Now that she's moved out and learning her way around the kitchen, she's proud to bring home her attempts to show me.
This turned out to be a big hit at Easter and is easy to do as well as good eats.

Banana Split Dessert

2 cups graham cracker crumbs
3 sticks butter or margarine, 1 stick melted and 2 softened
4 T. sugar
2 cups powdered sugar
4-5 bananas, sliced
1-15 oz. can crushed pineapple, drained
1-8 oz. tub whipped topping
1 jar maraschino cherries
1 cup pecans, chopped

Combine graham cracker crumbs, 1 stick melted butter and and sugar. Press into 9x12 baking dish.
Mix powdered sugar, 2 sticks of softened butter and mix for 5 minutes. Spread on top of crust.
Layer banana slices, pineapple, and whipped topping in baking dish. Place cherries on top and sprinkle with chopped pecans. Refrigerate for at least an hour until well chilled.

(Can also be made into 2 pies.)
