Italian Cheesy Bread

Sometimes, simple is good. One of the all around faves at my house is Cheesy Bread. It can go with an Italian dinner or almost any meal at all. This is also a good filler if you're a little short on food to go around. I've made them for the gang when we were waiting on pizzas. It's a good quick appetizer as well as side.

Italian Cheesy Bread
1 loaf Italian bread, sliced in half
butter
garlic powder
1-8 oz. pkg. shredded Italian blend or mozzarella cheese
1 T. parsley, chives or orgeano

Preheat oven to 350. Spray cookie sheet. Slice loaf of Italian bread lengthwise. Butter bread generously and sprinkle with garlic powder.
Cook in oven just to toast and melt butter, about 5 minutes. Sprinkle with grated cheese and parsley. Cook 5-7 minutes more until cheese is melted.
Remove from oven and let cool just slightly, about 3-4 minutes, then cut in 2 inch slices.
